Inventor's Handbook
Innovation at the University of Illinois
The Inventor's Handbook serves as an introduction to the University’s intellectual property policies, patenting and commercialization services, intellectual property fundamentals, and most importantly, the inventor’s role in the process of commercializing University innovations.
Innovation means transforming knowledge and ideas into economic growth and social well-being. Innovation has the power to create businesses, jobs, and economic well-being, and these advances come from all corners of the University.
At the Office of Technology Management, our purpose is to provide responsive, professional services and ensure research is successfully transferred outside the University to drive economic growth in the State of Illinois and benefit the general public.
