Data Transfer and Use Agreements
A Data Transfer and Use Agreement (DTUA) is a contract that governs the transfer of specific university-owned data to another research institution. It defines the specific data being shared, its intended use of the data by the recipient, security measures, responsibilities, confidentiality requirements, and the term of the agreement. DTUAs ensure data are used ethically and legally, protecting both the provider and recipient.
If you would like to transfer data to another institution, please submit this form so that OTM can draft a DTUA. https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/391562229?referrer=https://shibboleth.illinois.edu/
Do not start the data transfer process until you are notified by OTM that both parties have signed the agreement.
If you have any questions about this form or if you are requesting an DTUA for a transfer that has already occurred, please contact OTM directly at otm@illinois.edu.
