University of Illinois licenses novel anti-cancer therapies to StemPar Sciences

URBANA, IL and SAN FRANCISCO, CA - StemPar Sciences, Inc., the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Illinois), and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) have entered into a license agreement through which StemPar Sciences plans to develop cancer therapeutics based on compounds designed by Professor Paul Hergenrother of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Professor David Boothman, the Robert B. and Virginia Payne Professor in Oncology and Associate Director for Translation Research at UTSW.

Open House 2012 Success!

The OTM held its first-ever Open House on October 13, 2012, at the Illini Union. With opening remarks from our director, Lesley Millar, and a keynote speech from Peter Schiffer, Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it was a success with over 130 faculty and students from around campus attending.

Dispatch from the NSF Professional Development in Ceramics workshop

Recently I was privileged to be invited to present on Technology Transfer at  the NSF Professional Development In Ceramics Workshop. Organized by Dr. Erica Corral of University of Arizona and by Dr. Lynette Masden of NSF.

As I prepared my presentation and then met with faculty from different universities at the event I realized how lucky we are at the University of Illinois to have an enlightened and supportive administration.
